NSDC meeting discusses strengthening national security in the energy sector

The National Security and Defense Council discussed measures to strengthen national security in the energy sector, including preparations for the coming winter and ensuring the stable functioning of the energy system in the face of massive shelling by Russia, with a focus on ensuring proper living conditions in the East and South of the country.
At the meeting, the NSDC discussed the implementation of the National Security and Defense Council's decisions on the autumn and winter periods and additional measures to strengthen national security in the energy sector. The participants of the meeting need to work out priority tasks to ensure proper living conditions, especially in the East and South. UNN reports with reference to the NSDC.
On Friday, April 5, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine chaired a meeting at the NSDC Secretariat on the status of implementation of the National Security and Defense Council's decisions on the autumn-winter period and additional measures to strengthen national security in the energy sector during the special period.

The meeting was attended by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, Minister of Energy, Valeriy Tarasyuk, Head of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities, and heads of leading energy and oil and gas companies.
It is noted that the consideration of this issue was initiated by the President of Ukraine, given the current security situation, the need to prepare in advance for the next winter, as well as the stable functioning of the energy sector in the face of massive Russian shelling.
The current situation in Ukraine's energy system requires urgent and decisive steps to stabilize it. In this regard, it is important to urgently take the necessary measures to significantly improve the resilience of Ukraine's energy system.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine emphasized that the participants of the meeting should work out the priority tasks to ensure proper living conditions, especially in the East and South, and to guarantee the energy security of our country.
