MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak added that a "secret personnel issue" is planned for consideration next week.

An unknown personnel issue has been placed on the agenda for Tuesday, June 9. It is so secret that they only indicated the relevant committee—the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education. The only position for which this Committee can bring personnel decisions to a Parliamentary vote is the position of the Minister of Education…. 

Zheleznyak added that rumors about Lisovyi's resignation "have circulated 100,500 times already, including during the last plenary week."

In December 2025, a draft resolution on the resignation of Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi was registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Background

Oksen Lisovyi has been the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine since March 21, 2023. Prior to that, he participated in the Russian-Ukrainian war as part of a volunteer formation of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade. At the same time, he continued to perform his duties as director of the National Center "Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine" remotely.
