More than 30 people died during the attempts to illegally cross the border, most of them drowned in a mountain river, with some deaths also occurring in remote mountainous areas.
More than 30 border crossers have died since martial law, most of them as a result of crossing a mountain river. However, there have also been deaths in remote mountainous areas. This was reported by the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service Andriy Demchenko during a telethon, according to a correspondent of UNN.

He noted that weapons are not used in the detention of offenders.
"Weapons can only be used to protect the life and health of border guards. In all other cases, border guards will not open fire on violators," said Demchenko.
