The Ministry of Defense has authorized the delivery of the Swedish armored personnel carrier PbV 302. UNN writes about this with reference to the Ministry's report.

Details

The tracked combat vehicle was reportedly developed by Hägglund & Söner. The armored personnel carrier, weighing over 13 tons, has wide tracks that allow it to move through difficult off-road terrain, soft and loose soils, including mud and sand, and to overcome water obstacles.

The Swedish armored personnel carrier is armed with a 20-mm Hispano-Suiza automatic cannon, which was also installed on aircraft.

The Swedish PbV 302 also has additional armor reinforcement with internal anti-fragmentation and external ceramic elements. The frontal armor can withstand a direct hit from a 20mm projectile.

The tracked  Swedish APC has a 270 horsepower diesel engine that accelerates the combat vehicle to speeds of over 60 kilometers per hour.

Recall

In May , Sweden announced that it would provide Ukraine with the largest military aid package in the world, worth 1.16 billion euros, including radar reconnaissance aircraft, armored personnel carriers, ammunition, missiles, and other equipment.

The Defense Express portal reported that Sweden would transfer all of its existing stock of PbV 302s to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This vehicle was developed in the 1960s, and in a short period of time, these vehicles became the main armored personnel carrier of the Swedish Armed Forces. However, their transfer to Ukraine will not weaken the military power of the Swedes, as these vehicles are currently decommissioned at the level of 2014. It is known that about 180 units of PbV 302 were stored in warehouses.
