Two men in military uniforms broke into a house in Odesa, tied up a couple, and stole $8,500 and 50,000 hryvnias intended for their son's treatment and burial. The police detained the suspects, and part of the stolen money was recovered.

Two men in military uniforms and balaclavas broke into a private house in Odesa, where, threatening with weapons, they tied up a married couple and took money and jewelry. Among the stolen items were $8,500 and 50,000 hryvnias, which the family was saving for the husband's treatment and the arrangement of their son's burial site. This was reported by the Military Law Enforcement Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, writes UNN.
As part of the pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, two individuals involved in committing a particularly serious crime have been detained
According to the investigation, at the end of June, two men in military uniforms and balaclavas broke into a private house in Odesa. Posing as employees of one of the law enforcement agencies, they, threatening with weapons, tied up the married couple and seized gold and silver jewelry, as well as $8,500 and 50,000 hryvnias, which the family was saving for the husband's treatment and the arrangement of their son's burial site. After committing the crime, the attackers fled.
As a result of a complex of operational-search measures by operatives and investigators of the Odesa District Police Department, together with employees of the criminal investigation and criminal analysis departments of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region, under the procedural guidance of the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Southern Region, the individuals involved in the attack were identified.
During authorized searches at their places of residence, part of the stolen property, the vehicle used by the suspects, the clothes in which they committed the crime, as well as other material evidence were seized.
The safety of the participants in the investigative actions and the detention were carried out with the force support of the Special Purpose Police Battalion of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region and fighters of the rapid response and sudden action unit "SCORPION" of the Odesa Zonal Department of the Military Law Enforcement Service.
Both detainees have been notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for them is currently being decided.
