The mayor will be tried for non-declaration of property worth UAH 9 million and illegal excavations. The official's actions caused damages to the state exceeding UAH 18.9 million.

In the Kyiv region, an indictment has been sent to court against the mayor of one of the cities, who is suspected of entering false data into declarations and illegally destroying an archaeological heritage site. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.

According to the investigation, for three years, the official submitted declarations with significant violations. In particular, he did not declare real estate registered to a family member, valued at over UAH 7.2 million, and also concealed cash assets and financial obligations totaling approximately UAH 600,000. In total, according to the investigation, assets worth over UAH 9 million were not declared annually.
In addition, in 2025, the accused, without the necessary permits, organized excavation work at a national archaeological site. At his direction, a pit was dug and the cultural layer was removed, which contained the remains of 18th-century monastic buildings, burials, and objects from the Old Rus' period.
As a result of these actions, the state suffered losses amounting to over UAH 18.9 million. The case has now been referred to court for substantive consideration.
