A russian military intelligence agent operating in Zhytomyr region was sentenced to 15 years in prison for high treason committed under martial law, including tracking the locations and movements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
A russian military intelligence agent who operated in the Zhytomyr region was sentenced to 15 years in prison. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Security Service of Ukraine.
Details
It is noted that at of the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia, the attacker tracked the locations and movements of the Defense Forces involved in the defense of the capital.
He also handed over to the aggressor the geolocations of several enterprises of the Ukrainian defense industry.
During the search of the offender's residence, the SBU seized computer equipment and mobile phones used by him in reconnaissance and subversive activities in favor of russia.
Based on the SBU materials, the court sentenced the offender to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Based on the evidence collected, the court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The investigation was conducted by the SBU in Zhytomyr region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.

Law enforcement officers add that the traitor was caught in July 2022 as a result of a multi-stage special operation in the region.
The investigation revealed that the enemy accomplice was a former employee of a local defense plant.
During the battles for Kyiv, he was remotely recruited by a staff member of the General Staff of the russian Armed Forces (known as a game). He was involved in cooperation through the banned social network VKontakte, where the traitor published his anti-Ukrainian comments.
