A 56-year-old native of Donetsk region faces up to 10 years in prison for cooperating with the russian occupation forces by voluntarily accepting a leadership position in an illegally created government body in the occupied territory.
A collaborator from Donetsk region, who voluntarily took the position of head of the "state penitentiary service of the Ministry of Justice of the Donetsk People's Republic", will be tried in Kyiv. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has sent to court an indictment against a 56-year-old native of Donetsk region on charges of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine and committing actions aimed at forcible change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power (Part 1 of Article 109, Part 2 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The indictment was sent to the Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv
According to the investigation, after the occupation of certain territories of Donetsk region, in March 2022, the accused agreed to cooperate with the occupation administration and voluntarily took a position of leadership in the illegally created government body in the occupied territory - the "State Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Donetsk People's Republic".
Now the man faces up to 10 years in prison.

It is noted that during his tenure, the "official" actively contributed to the activities of the occupation authorities, established interaction with the occupation media and used them to cover the activities of the occupation administration.
The "official" took part in propaganda campaigns in support of the occupation authorities in order to shape the opinion of the population and the world community about the legality of their own actions and the legitimacy of the creation of the so-called "state bodies".
The accused also actively assisted the occupation administration in organizing the work of illegally created "law enforcement agencies".
