The Israeli Air Force attacked the Sanaa airport and the port of Hodeidah in Yemen in response to a missile attack. The strikes were aimed at infrastructure facilities, including power plants, after the Houthis attacked central Israel.

According to media reports, Israeli aircraft attacked infrastructure, including the Heziaz and Ras Qanatib power plants and positions in ports on the west coast, a military statement said. Al-Masirah TV channel, which is close to Yemeni Houthi rebels, reported that the attacks were aimed at facilities in the port city of Hodeidah.

The Arab broadcaster Sky News Arabia and the Israeli daily Haaretz reported that the IDF attacked the international airport in Sanaa. This was confirmed by an Israeli spokesperson, according to Sky News.

Israel struck after a rocket fired from Yemen triggered air raid warning sirens in central Israel on Wednesday morning, prompting millions of residents to seek shelter for the second night in a row.

The army said the rocket was intercepted before it reached Israeli territory, but police said shrapnel from the interception landed in several cities.
