Internet cable breaks between Sweden and Finland: police do not confirm the possibility of sabotage

On Tuesday, two new damage to internet cables between Sweden and Finland was detected in Finland. Finnish police initially suspected the crime, but later refused to investigate it.

Cable breaks were discovered on Tuesday and probably occurred on land in Finland. Reports UNN with reference to Swedish television (SVT).

As it became known this morning, two new cable damages occurred in Internet connections between Sweden and Finland. The Finnish police provided clarification. 

"The police are not currently conducting a criminal investigation into the cable break between Finland and Sweden," the Finnish police said in a statement.

It should be noted that law enforcement officers initially stated that the agency suspected that there was a crime with a cable break. But later on Tuesday morning, police said they were not investigating the incident.

On Tuesday night, two new fiber-optic cable breaks were detected in Finland. Finnish police are investigating the version of the crime, and Global Connect is working on troubleshooting.
