Syrskyi reveals the number of Russian troops on the southern front

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, visited several sectors in southern Ukraine. In the Oleksandrivka sector alone, the Russian grouping numbers over 71,000 personnel. Russia has concentrated nearly the same amount in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors. Syrskyi reported this on Telegram, according to UNN.

"I worked in military units and subunits performing combat missions in the hottest sectors of the Southern operational zone. The enemy continues to build up efforts. In the Oleksandrivka sector alone, the Russian grouping numbers over 71,000 personnel. The enemy has concentrated approximately the same number in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors. The situation remains dynamic—active hostilities are being conducted by both Russian troops and the Ukrainian Defense Forces," Syrskyi reported.

He also shared that he discussed the current situation, the results of assigned tasks, and further steps to strengthen positions with the commander of the Air Assault Forces grouping, Major General Oleh Apostol, and the commanders of air assault and assault units.

"I supported the commanders' initiatives regarding active operations in designated sectors. I made decisions on providing units with additional necessary technical equipment and ammunition. I separately emphasized: the main priority during combat missions remains the preservation of the lives of Ukrainian soldiers," Syrskyi added.

Furthermore, he discussed current issues regarding the development and application of unmanned systems with the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping, Major Robert Brovdi.

"We continue to build up capabilities to strike the enemy, particularly at operational depth," the Commander-in-Chief concluded.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that eight military units have lost the right to conduct independent basic combined arms training.
