In Donetsk Region, a Serviceman is Suspected of Stealing and Selling 16 'General Chereshnya' FPV Drones

The sergeant stole 16 drones valued at 558,000 hryvnias and sold them for 105,000. The suspect has been detained, and a preventive measure in the form of custody has been ordered.
A sergeant from a military unit in the Donetsk region is suspected of stealing 16 "General Chereshnya" combat drones, which he sold near the Kharkiv region for 105,000 hryvnias. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.
Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sphere of the Eastern region, a serviceman of one of the military units in the Donetsk region has been notified of suspicion. He is charged with the theft of military property under martial law (Part 4 of Article 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the sergeant, who held the position of senior combat medic in a company of unmanned aerial systems of a mechanized battalion, decided to illegally seize FPV drones that were on the balance sheet of the military unit.
These are 16 "General Chereshnya" FPV drones that had been transferred to the unit for combat missions.
The investigation established that the suspect had access to this property in connection with his service. In January 2024, according to the investigation, he stole 16 drones worth 34,900 UAH each and decided to sell them for personal gain.
On May 30, 2024, near the Kharkiv region, the serviceman sold the stolen FPV drones for 105,000 UAH. After the money was handed over, he was detained by law enforcement officers in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
During the inspection of the scene, 105,000 UAH and all 16 "General Chereshnya" FPV drones and their components were seized.
As a result of the illegal actions, material damage amounting to 558,400 UAH was caused to the state, represented by the military unit.
At the request of the prosecutor, the court chose a preventive measure for the suspect—detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 266,240 UAH.
