HACC sets UAH 10 million bail for ex-head of State Border Guard Service Deineko

The High Anti-Corruption Court has set bail of UAH 10 million for former head of the State Border Guard Service Serhiy Deineko and UAH 2 million for the former head of the border crossing point department. They are suspected of systematically receiving bribes for unhindered border crossing.

The High Anti-Corruption Court applied a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 10 million to the former head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Serhiy Deineko, and UAH 2 million to the former head of the State Border Guard Service's checkpoint department. Both are suspected of systematically receiving undue benefits for facilitating unhindered crossing of the state border. This is reported by UNN with reference to the SAPO press service.

"At the request of the NABU detective, approved by the SAPO prosecutor, the investigating judge of the HACC applied a preventive measure to the former top officials of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, who were exposed for systematically receiving undue benefits for facilitating unhindered crossing of the state border," the report says.
It is reported that the court partially granted the request.
The court applied a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 10 million to the former head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. To the former head of the State Border Guard Service's checkpoint department - UAH 2 million in bail.
Both suspects were assigned appropriate procedural obligations, including:
- to appear before the investigator, prosecutor, and court upon first request;
- not to leave the territory of Ukraine without the permission of the investigator, prosecutor, or court;
- to inform the investigator, prosecutor, and court about changes in their place of residence and work;
- to refrain from communicating with suspects in this criminal proceeding, witnesses, and any other persons regarding the circumstances set forth in the suspicion;
- to leave their passport (passports) for travel abroad, other documents that give the right to leave Ukraine and enter Ukraine, for safekeeping with the relevant state authorities.
The term of the obligations is until March 30.
