Government allocates UAH 7.5 billion to build shelters in schools in frontline and border areas

The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated UAH 7.5 billion for the construction of shelters in schools in the frontline and border areas. Additional funds have been allocated for school buses, devices and meals for students.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that the government has allocated UAH 7.5 billion to build shelters in schools located in the frontline and border areas. He said this during a government meeting, UNN reports.

We are systematically implementing a comprehensive School Offline policy to maximize the involvement of children in full-time education. UAH 7.5 billion has been allocated to build shelters in the frontline and border areas. This will allow 100,000 students to return to classrooms

- Shmyhal said.

He said that UAH 1.2 billion has been allocated for the purchase of school buses, of which more than 400 out of the planned 500 have already been purchased. Schools have received more than 240 thousand devices for students and teachers. UAH 2 billion has also been allocated to provide meals for primary school students and UAH 1.5 billion to modernize school canteens.

The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated UAH 56.9 million for the construction of shelters in schools in Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Kyiv regions. The funds will be used for radiation shelters and bomb shelters in four educational institutions.
