A German sentenced to death in Belarus confessed to planning a terrorist attack ordered by the SBU. The German federal government expressed concern over the broadcast of the video with the confession, which was probably made under pressure.
In the videos, which were probably made under duress, the man said that he had been commissioned by the SBU to photograph military facilities in Belarus in October 2023; he was allegedly instructed by the Ukrainian secret service to leave a backpack with explosives at the Ozerische station. Belarusian media published video footage in which a German man sentenced to death in Belarus confessed to planning a terrorist attack and was convicted of “terrorism” and “mercenarism.” The man said that he had photographed military facilities in Belarus last October at the request of the Ukrainian secret service and had also set up an explosive device on a railroad track near the Belarusian capital Minsk. German media believe that the confession was made under pressure. Also, according to a Russian news agency, the convicted German asked for clemency in a video message.
