On the night of July 12, the Unmanned Systems Forces, in cooperation with the GUR of the Ministry of Defense and the SBGS, struck the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region of Russia. This is one of the key enterprises of Rosneft with a capacity of about 8.5 million tons of oil per year. A large-scale fire broke out on the territory of the plant.

Shortly before that, a refinery in Omsk was struck. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that after the strike on the Omsk refinery, there was no longer a single Russian oil refinery that Ukrainian weapons could not reach. The modernized long-range FP-1 drones produced by the Ukrainian company Fire Point are already capable of hitting targets at a distance of at least 2,500 km.

In addition, advisor to the Minister of Defense Serhiy Sternenko stated that this summer the intensity of strikes deep into Russia will only increase thanks to the massive use of long-range drones and Flamingo missiles. According to him, it is the systematic strikes on oil refining, military, and logistics infrastructure that deprive Russia of the advantage of a "deep rear" and significantly deplete its military potential.
