The sanatoriums of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine are fully focused on medical rehabilitation and have already been contracted by the National Health Service of Ukraine for 2026, and more than 32.8 thousand military personnel have received assistance there. In parallel, the FTU, together with relevant ministries, is expanding support and employment programs for veterans, preparing for their large-scale social adaptation after the war. Serhiy Byzov, head of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine, said this in an interview, writes UNN.

Our sanatoriums are fully engaged in rehabilitation. We are contracted for 2026 by the NHSU (National Health Service of Ukraine – ed.)

- Serhiy Byzov said in an interview on the YouTube channel PRO:UA.

According to him, 32,800 military personnel have already undergone medical rehabilitation. "Indeed, we may not have the best conditions, but we certainly have professional doctors, we have professional approaches in this regard," Serhiy Byzov noted.

The Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine is developing joint programs with the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, and the National Health Service of Ukraine to support Ukrainian veterans.

We have already started appointing veterans to positions in various enterprises. We employ veterans who have served, who have experience, who are ready to develop

- Serhiy Byzov noted.

The head of the FTU added that the post-war period will come sooner or later, some will remain in the army, will serve, and it is necessary to actively involve them in the trade union movement. Another part is those who were mobilized from their workplaces and will return to work.

We understand that the social adaptation of veterans will largely take place in labor collectives (...) And the role of the trade union movement, as a social partner of the state, is strategic (...). And how we will negotiate at the table, I am sure that we will definitely find common ground in all positions, because we must preserve the country, we must all be a united nation, a single whole. And I think that in this format will be our role

- Serhiy Byzov noted.
