A massive failure in the operation of Google, Apple, Samsung and GitHub in Russia may indicate preparation for new blockades. This is reported by UNN with reference to the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

"Roskomnadzor" officially denies its involvement in the incident. However, experts are sure: this is another testing of equipment for traffic filtering, which the Russian authorities use for the purpose of network censorship, noted in the CPD.

The tactic of restricting Russians' access to foreign online services has already become systematic for the Kremlin. According to a similar scenario, Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber and YouTube were previously blocked. The scheme is always the same: first, short-term failures are recorded, and after a few weeks, a complete blockade or critical slowdown of these resources occurs

The CPD added that attempts to limit the operation of global technology giants and key IT services are another step towards the complete isolation of the Russian digital space.

Even if access has been restored now, the authorities have clearly made it clear that they are ready to sacrifice technologies critical for their own citizens for the sake of building a "digital prison"
