Kyiv • UNN
The European Parliament has begun preparing a resolution on systemic disinformation and historical falsifications by the Russian Federation. The document exposes Russia's attempts to interfere in the politics of the EU, the US and other countries through cyberattacks and manipulations.
The European Parliament has recognized that Russia systematically uses disinformation, carries out cyberattacks, manipulates public opinion, and interferes in politics, including elections, in the EU, the US, and other countries. Thus, the preparation of a resolution has begun.
This was reported by MP from the Servant of the People party, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy and International Cooperation Arseniy Pushkarenko, UNN reports with reference to the Servant of the People website.
Details
We see, at the level of the European Parliament, the recognition that Russia is systematically, hybridly interfering in the information field, interfering in cyberattacks, in electoral processes. That is, it manipulates public opinion, using large amounts of money, using its agents, bribing the media. It is important that today's European Parliament has finally found the strength and consensus to accept and recognize this. And these are the facts of interference in many elections, in many referendums, in many different processes and the formation of public opinion in many countries of the world: European states, the European Community of the European Union, and the United States
He also added that the issue of canceling the first round of the presidential election in Romania only emphasizes that Russia is indeed very effective in spreading disinformation today and spares no resources: money, time, people.
Finally, things will be called by their proper names at the level of the entire European continent, and Ukraine has long been saying this on all platforms that it is necessary to stop Russia's hybrid methods of interference in the public and political life of many countries of the world
