Zelenskyy proposed to Putin to involve the US and the EU in security negotiations. The President is initiating a ceasefire under the monitoring of the United States.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that Europe and the United States should be involved in negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. Zelenskyy wrote about this in an open letter to the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, UNN reports.

"Since the war is taking place in Europe, and we in Ukraine need security guarantees, and you want security guarantees for yourself, the participation of those who can truly act as guarantors seems logical. We believe that the participation of Europe is necessary – those who truly have the capacity to influence the situation. We believe that the United States should be in the process, and this is what can determine the configuration of a new security architecture in our part of the world," the Head of State wrote.
He emphasized that the current front line is the line from which diplomacy must begin, while Ukraine is ready for a full ceasefire – for the duration of the negotiations.
And this is standard practice, which is currently confirmed by the circumstances surrounding Iran. An attempt to establish real silence is the best start to begin talking to each other. We believe that this will not just be an attempt, but a real ceasefire, if you so desire
He added that the United States could provide monitoring of the ceasefire along the line of contact.
