Enemy has almost everything ready for mobilization in the temporarily occupied territory - Fedorov
Kyiv • UNN
Russia is planning to forcibly mobilize up to 60,000 Ukrainian citizens from the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region after the sham elections to strengthen its armed forces.
Over the past four months, the enemy has been preparing for mobilization in the temporarily occupied territory. Currently, the enemy has almost everything ready for fake mobilization. The head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov said this during a telethon, UNN reports.
"Unfortunately, in my opinion, this is a realistic plan of Putin's. And we have several confirmations that this plan may begin to be implemented. First of all, we have seen over the two years of occupation that after each such by-election, the enemy begins to behave much more harshly with the civilian population. This was the case after the snap referendum held in the fall of 2022. The attitude toward civilians was also harsher after the September 2023 by-elections, when almost everyone's social benefits were taken away. We understand that the enemy will behave more harshly after the farces they have carried out," Fedorov said.
He added that the enemy has almost everything ready for fake mobilization.
"For the past four months, the enemy has been preparing for mobilization. They have been registering everyone for military service. They opened military registration offices in every district and village. They have opened military registration at every enterprise and thus are trying to register all our residents in full in order to have a complete picture: where our residents live, who is subject to military registration, where our residents who can be called up live. I am sure that after their by-elections, they will definitely mobilize our residents in the temporary occupation," added Fedorov.
The head of the OVA called on residents to leave the temporarily occupied territories, as the enemy will force them to leave and use them as cannon fodder.
"Today there are two main ways. The first is the pedestrian checkpoint on the border between Ukraine and Russia, which is located in Sumy region - the Kolotylivka checkpoint. Today, you can go from Russia to Ukraine through this checkpoint. There are also ways to leave through the borders with the EU or through the border with Georgia. All these routes are working," adds Fedorov.
He also said that 350-400 thousand people live in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region, which means that the mobilization potential is currently 50-60 thousand people who can be drawn into the enemy's army.
