A jury in California found the artificial intelligence company that created ChatGPT not liable to Musk for allegedly deviating from its original mission to benefit humanity.
The jury, which deliberated for less than two hours, sided with OpenAI, stating that Musk's lawsuit was filed past the statute of limitations.

Following the verdict, Musk's lawyer stated that they reserve the right to appeal. However, the judge suggested this would be difficult given the timing chosen by Musk.
U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers stated: "There is a significant amount of evidence supporting the jury's findings, so I was prepared to dismiss the case immediately."
