In Dnipro, the pre-trial investigation against a city council official, who is suspected of official negligence, has been completed. Details
Prosecutors of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office have completed the pre-trial investigation against an official of one of the departments of the Dnipro City Council.
According to preliminary data, in 2024, the city council entered into an agreement with a contractor for the insulation of the roof and facade of a building. The investigation found that the official, when approving the tender documentation, did not check its compliance with legal requirements.
As a result, value-added tax, which should not have been charged in this case, was groundlessly included in the estimate.
Because of this, the contractor was overpaid more than UAH 11 million from the budget. The violation was discovered during an audit, which confirmed the amount of damages. The official is charged with official negligence that caused grave consequences (Part 2, Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)
Currently, the damages have been compensated, and the funds have been returned to the community budget.
