Starmer announced the agreement before the start of the "Coalition of the Willing" meeting in Paris.
According to the British Prime Minister, the agreement will provide Ukraine with additional support to defend against Russian aggression, as well as create new opportunities for the British defense industry.

The British government reported that the Ukraine Support Loan program, with a total volume of 90 billion euros, was created to meet Ukraine's defense and budgetary needs in 2026–2027. Of this amount, 60 billion euros are allocated directly for the development of Ukraine's defense capabilities.
Thanks to the new agreement, British defense enterprises will be able to participate in tenders financed by this program, opening up the opportunity for them to secure contracts worth billions of pounds sterling.
The UK government also noted that this year London has already allocated 3.75 billion pounds in military aid to Ukraine and confirmed its commitment to provide at least 3 billion pounds annually for as long as needed. The total volume of British support for Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion has already reached 25 billion pounds, of which 16 billion is military assistance.
