A Shahed drone exploded in Moldova after a Russian attack on the Odesa region in Ukraine, the country's Ministry of Defense reported, writes UNN.

"According to the Air Operations Service of the National Army (of Moldova), tonight, July 13, at 1:03 a.m., a flying object was detected that exploded in the area of the village of Copanca, Căușeni district. According to preliminary data, the Gheran 2 (Shahed 136) aircraft flew over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova after air attacks by the Russian Federation on the Odesa region, Ukraine. Groups of specialists from authorized structures are working at the scene," the statement said.

The country's police also stated that "this night, around 1:03 a.m., through the emergency service 112, the police were informed that on the outskirts of the locality of Copanca, Căușeni district, a small aircraft resembling a drone was discovered, which exploded upon impact with the ground and caused a fire."

Police and firefighters arrived at the scene, as indicated.

"According to preliminary information, there are no casualties as a result of the incident. The area is being guarded, and competent authorities are conducting an investigation to establish all the circumstances," the Moldovan police noted.

In case of observing suspicious aircraft, Moldovan citizens were urged "not to approach them, not to touch them or move them, to remember their location, and to avoid using a phone nearby, as they may contain explosive elements sensitive to radio waves."
