The fire broke out in the afternoon in the Krokstadelva area. Initially, one townhouse caught fire, but the flames quickly spread to neighboring houses and adjacent areas.
As of the evening, the fire could not be contained. Police Chief Frode Presthus stated that the fire could be brought under control only in a few hours or even the next day.

According to police, one civilian suffered mild smoke poisoning and was taken to a medical facility. There is currently no information about missing persons, but law enforcement officers urged reporting people with whom contact has been lost.
