4A Games studio unveiled gameplay for the new “Metro 2039” and announced a new release date for the shooter

Ukrainian video game developer 4A Games has presented a new trailer for the game "Metro 2039," showcasing the shooter's gameplay. The developers also announced a new release date for the game - February 2027, UNN reports. 

At the Xbox Games Showcase, we presented the first full gameplay trailer for METRO 2039, featuring nearly three minutes of footage captured directly in-game. Additionally, we are proud to announce that the game will be in your hands in February 2027. It will be released on Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store 

The developers explained that they named this trailer "Hunter" for one simple reason - it is entirely dedicated to him. 

In April, we announced that our antagonist is not just "The Führer," but the first Spartan himself - Hunter. Today, we see him in-game for the first time, dressed in the elegant uniform of the New Reich - a fascist redesign of the well-known Spartan armor. His image is everywhere: on tattered posters, in flickering propaganda, and on giant statues 

The trailer shows fragments of various locations: from deadly wildlands to the irradiated streets of Moscow, impoverished station settlements, and the terrifying depths of the tunnels.

Fully created on the game engine, the trailer combines first-person footage and custom camera angles to showcase everything fans love about METRO 2039: atmosphere, survival, stealth, brutality, and horror. Everything that is an integral part of METRO has returned, but there are hints of something new as well. In the trailer, you can see the "Shatun" weapon in action for the first time, along with new items, mutant varieties, ways to explore the world, and using the environment to your advantage. We can't wait to tell you more 

The trailer is accompanied by the voice of the protagonist, the Stranger, who begins to shed light on the reasons for the Metro's decline. 

He is full of anger and hatred, and in his internal monologue, he reproaches the Führer for his lies and hypocrisy: "You promised a better future... you swore to crush the enemy." Almost nothing remains of the Spartan Order as we knew it. Once, Spartans were considered selfless protectors, but the Stranger is convinced: Hunter has become the very enemy they once fought. But what drives the Stranger to action? And what does the return of the Dark Ones, hinted at in his nightmares, mean? We'll tell you about that another time

The Ukrainian company 4A Games, together with Deep Silver, has officially announced Metro 2039 and released a trailer for the game. 

The game "METRO 2039" from the Ukrainian studio 4A Games reached 1 million additions to wishlists among gamers two weeks after the announcement.
