Kyiv • UNN
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the SES has neutralized 600,000 explosive ordnance and cleared 200,000 hectares of territory. Today, Ukraine can be considered one of the most technologically advanced countries in the field of demining.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, State Emergency Service units have demined about 200,000 hectares of Ukrainian territories and neutralized more than 600,000 explosive objects. This was reported by Serhiy Reva, director of the Department of Anti-Mine Activity Measures of the State Emergency Service, informs UNN.
Details
According to him, it is currently impossible to demine all mined territories due to the occupation and proximity to the front line.
In Ukraine, 133.3 thousand kilometers are potentially contaminated, including the temporarily occupied territories. This is about 20% of the entire territory of the state
He said that every day, State Emergency Service specialists are involved in both planned and operational response. They have a wide range of tasks: from landmine clearance to underwater mine clearance. Currently, the State Emergency Service has 2,400 sappers, Reva noted, adding that technological solutions for mine clearance developed in Ukraine are best adapted to the realities of war.
Today, Ukraine can be considered one of the most technologically advanced countries in the field of mine clearance. State Emergency Service operators use not just metal detectors in their work, but even drones and mechanized mine clearance machines of Ukrainian design. Not every country can afford to produce such machines
Recall
In 2025, pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service surveyed 25,483 hectares of Ukrainian land. Specialists detected and neutralized 86,310 explosive objects, making the cleared territories safe for movement and economic activity.
