Over the last day, 170 combat engagements took place, most of them in the Pokrovske, Kurakhove and Kursk sectors. The enemy launched numerous air strikes on populated areas and actively attacked Ukrainian positions.
There were 170 combat engagements on the frontline yesterday, with the largest number of battles on the Pokrovske, Kurakhove and Kursk directions. This is stated in the report of the General Staff as of 08.00 on 16.10.2024, UNN reports.

It is noted that over the past day, aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit one area of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, in addition, a UAV ground station and a communication tower of the invaders were damaged.
In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy stormed the positions of our troops nine times near Vysoka Yaruga and Vovchansk.
In the Kupyansk sector, 17 occupants' attacks took place over the last day. Defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Kolisnykivka, Kopanky and Nadiya.
In the Liman sector, the enemy attacked 16 times. They tried to break into our defense near Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, Terny and Torske.
Two combat engagements took place near Verkhnekamianske and Vyymka in the Siverskiy sector.
In the Kramatorsk sector , the occupants attacked once in the area of Bila Hora.
In Toretsk sector, the enemy, supported by air, carried out nine attacks near Toretsk, Diliyivka and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, our defenders stopped 38 aggressor's assault and offensive actions towards Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Petrivka and Pustynka.
In the Kurakhove sector, the Defense Forces repelled 35 attacks. Occupants tried to advance in the areas of Berestky, Novoselydivka, Voznesenka, Novodmytrivka, Maksymilianivka, Dale and Antonivka.
In the Vremivsk sector, the enemy made seven assaults on our positions in the areas of Trudove, Rivne and Novodarivka. He actively used attack and bomber aircraft to attack the area.
In the Orikhivsk sector, the occupants attacked once in the direction of Novoandriivka, but were unsuccessful.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian invaders tried to force our units out of their positions five times. We received a tough rebuff and suffered losses.
No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions .
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy is actively using artillery and aviation from the territory of the Russian Federation in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements.
The operation in the Kursk region continues. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders repelled 30 enemy attacks in the area. Enemy aircraft continue to strike with guided aerial bombs at Ukrainian territory. Currently, there are 15 air strikes involving 19 guided missiles.
