Audi's operating profit fell 91% to 106 million euros in the third quarter. The company is negotiating to cut 15% of indirect jobs, which will amount to about 4,500 positions in Germany.

Audi confirmed that the management board is currently in talks with the works council to reduce the number of employees in so-called indirect jobs within the company, such as in development, where, according to the report, more than 2,000 jobs could be cut.
The goal in the indirect area is a reduction of about 15 percent. According to figures in Germany, this would amount to around 4,500 jobs.
Audi has reported a sharp decline in profits. It was a 91 percent drop, or 106 million euros, in the third quarter.
The backdrop is a poor economy and restructuring; partly due to the high costs associated with the likely closure of the Brussels plant.
