The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleksandr Mischenko, held telephone negotiations with his Polish counterpart, Marek Pravda. In particular, the discussion concerned the illegal replacement of the memorial plaque on the mass grave of UPA soldiers on Mount Monastyr, which is an act of vandalism. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in Telegram, reports UNN.

The diplomats discussed topical issues of Ukrainian-Polish relations. They paid special attention to the bilateral dialogue in the field of national memory and emphasized the importance of continuing constructive cooperation in this area.
Oleksandr Mischenko also drew the attention of his Polish counterpart to the illegal replacement of the memorial plaque on the mass grave of UPA soldiers on Mount Monastyr in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship of Poland. According to the Ukrainian diplomat, this is an act of vandalism that plays into the hands of the Russian occupiers – Ukraine and Poland must strongly condemn it.
At the same time, the Polish diplomat confirmed the position of official Warsaw regarding the condemnation of this act of vandalism and informed that the relevant authorities are doing everything possible to establish the circumstances of this provocation and bring to justice all those responsible for its commission.
Earlier, a similar position was expressed by the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland Hanna Wróblewska.

We are talking about an incident that occurred on April 21 in the village of Verkhrata, Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Poland. As reports the PAP publication, unknown persons replaced the plaque on the monument and grave dedicated to the soldiers of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.
It was written there that the buried Ukrainians "are responsible for terror and genocide against the defenseless Polish, Ukrainian and Jewish population." The previous plaque stated that Ukrainians who died in battle with Soviet NKVD troops were buried in this grave.
