Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the Akhalkalaki (Georgia)–Kars (Turkey) railway is open for exports from Armenia and imports to the country. This was reported by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, according to UNN.
"I am pleased to announce that the Akhalkalaki-Kars railway, as well as the Azerbaijani railway, is now open for exports from Armenia and imports to Armenia. This is a major event in the economic life of our country. I thank our partners from Turkey and Georgia,"
According to him, rail communication is now also possible with the European Union through the territories of Georgia and Turkey.
"In the near future, the opening of rail links between Armenia-Turkey, Armenia-Azerbaijan, and then through Nakhchivan – Armenia-Iran is expected. We will witness these events in the near future,"
He noted that currently, Armenia has a rail connection with Russia through the territories of Georgia and Azerbaijan, and further – through Russia and Kazakhstan – with China.
