Timothy Snyder

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state awards to the first ladies of Finland and Estonia, as well as to the first gentleman of Denmark. This happened during the fifth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen in Kyiv.

American historian Timothy Snyder was awarded the Vasyl Stus Prize for his contribution to Ukrainian culture and civic stance. The award was presented by Volodymyr Yermolenko, President of Ukrainian PEN, in Kyiv.

President Zelenskyy stated that Putin fears Ukraine's success and its accession to the EU, as this could set an example for Russians. He also emphasized that NATO expansion is important to Putin, even though the Alliance is a defensive organization.

US President Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the Russian attack on the Flex plant in Mukachevo. As a result of the August 21 attack, 23 people were injured.

Funds for the medevac for the Armed Forces of Ukraine were raised in less than a day and a half. The collection was initiated by Polish journalist Sławomir Sierakowski and American historian Timothy Snyder.
