Zelenskyy urged Europe to accelerate the creation of its own air defense system

Zelenskyy discussed strengthening air defense and developing defense production with partners. The priority is the PURL program and the creation of an anti-ballistic system.

Strengthening Ukraine's air defense and developing Europe's own defense capabilities remain among the top priorities for partners. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during a conversation with the media alongside the leaders of the Nordic and Baltic countries, UNN reports.

According to the Head of State, during the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the issues of strengthening the air defense system and increasing the production of relevant protective equipment.
"Second—to provide Ukraine with air defense and strengthen our cooperation to make Europe stronger. I am grateful to all the countries investing in our PURL program,"
The President emphasized that until Europe creates sufficient internal capabilities in the field of air and missile defense, support for Ukraine must remain stable.
"Until Europe has enough of its own air defense and anti-ballistic production, it is very important to continue supporting the PURL program,"
Zelenskyy also reported that the partners discussed expanding the production of air defense systems and forming a European anti-ballistic security architecture.
"We discussed our joint work to increase air defense production capacities, the development of a European anti-ballistic system, and the expansion of production here in Europe,"
