White House accuses Iran of funding protests in the US

The coordinator of the US National Security Council said that Iran was financing some of the protests in the country. He emphasized that most of the actions are peaceful and reflect the real concerns of citizens.
The Iranian authorities are financing and encouraging some of the protests taking place in the United States, said John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator at the White House National Security Council, UNN reports . According to him, Tehran wants to “sow discord” in American society.

We do not believe that all the protests on a daily basis are fully funded by Iran. Many Americans are naturally concerned about what is happening in the Middle East. A lot of the protests are about that,” Kirby said at the briefing.
The official did not specify which actions were financed by the Iranian side and on what basis this conclusion was made. At the same time, he emphasized that for the most part, the protests in the United States are peaceful.
“Most of it is done naturally. It involves people who have a real concern,” added John Kirby.
