The Verkhovna Rada reported on the lack of funds for the repair of roads remote from the front. Only critical repairs in the frontline areas in the amount of UAH 12.6 billion will receive funding.

The restoration of roads in frontline areas remains a priority, while the repair of roads remote from the fighting is postponed due to lack of funds. This was stated by Oksana Savchuk, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on transport and infrastructure and chairman of the subcommittee on road safety and Transport Safety, on the air of the telethon, reports UNN.

If we are talking about front-line roads, then we definitely need money for their revival, but if we are talking about long-distance roads that are far from military operations, then we do not allocate funds for this. We must be patient and make only emergency major repairs on state roads

Savchuk said.

According to her, funds are available only for critical road repairs.

We have little money for the next year. As of today, we have the means to close only critical situations in front-line and front-line cities

she added.
