Marco Rubio rejected the possibility of lifting sanctions on Iran solely for opening the Strait of Hormuz. For this to happen, Tehran must make significant nuclear concessions.

Democratic Senator Chris Murphy pressed Rubio to clarify what incentives, if any, Washington is prepared to offer Tehran in exchange for a deal.
Rubio said that any sanctions relief must follow significant concessions regarding the nuclear issue and enriched uranium.
"Would they receive relief solely in exchange for opening the Strait of Hormuz?" Murphy asked.
Rubio replied: "No, that has not been discussed. That has not been offered."
