According to Bacon, 218 lawmakers voted in favor of continuing the consideration of the petition, while 204 voted against. The congressman noted that the final vote on the decision is expected to take place the following day.

Bacon called the vote a "Churchill moment"

Commenting on the voting results, Bacon emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine and increasing pressure on Russia.

"This is our Churchill moment, and we must pass this test,"

he stated.

The vote took place amid growing discussions in Washington regarding support for Ukraine.
