Unreasonably accrued one million hryvnias of "combat" to subordinates: ex-military commander from Zaporizhzhia faces 12 years in prison

The former head of the Zaporizhzhia regional territorial center for recruitment and social support organized a corruption scheme by sending his subordinates to a military unit without legal grounds, which allowed them to receive more than UAH 1 million in combat payments, despite the fact that they did not participate in hostilities.
The indictment against the former head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support has been submitted to court. As investigators found out, he organized a corruption scheme with combat payments to his subordinates. This was reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.
Details
Investigators found out that, as head of the Zaporizhzhia JCCC of the JV , the official, without legal grounds, sent his subordinates close to him to one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, allegedly to perform combat missions.
As a result, seven servicemen who did not take part in combat operations were paid more than UAH 1 million.
The former military officer is accused of abuse of power committed under martial law (Article 426-1(5) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for a sentence of up to 12 years in prison. The court also arrested the accused's property: an apartment in Zaporizhzhia and three land plots in Zaporizhzhia region

The SBI emphasizes that criminal proceedings against other participants in the scheme are ongoing.
It is noted that the soldiers who received the payments were not appointed to positions in the unit, did not participate in combat and were in fact unjustifiably in the frontline zone.
They were there as if they were on vacation, living on a free schedule and even having the opportunity to go home for the weekend. However, the servicemen received increased payments and the opportunity to acquire the status of combatants.
