On June 8, at the request of Ukraine, the UN Security Council is convening an emergency meeting in response to another large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine. This was reported by Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, according to UNN.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote an open letter to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin - proposing to schedule a meeting and determine a date.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin reacted to the letter, stating that he currently sees no point in meeting with the Ukrainian President - claiming he "never refused a meeting with Zelenskyy, but is against pouring from the empty into the void."
