The Secretary General strongly condemns the Russian missile attacks that have hit residential buildings and civilian infrastructure across Ukraine, including in the cities of Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro and Pokrovsk.
The UN adds that the strike killed dozens of civilians, including children, and injured more than 150 others.
Particularly shocking are the cases when rockets hit the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt" in Kyiv, the largest pediatric facility in Ukraine, and another medical facility in the Dniprovsky district of the capital. Attacks on civilians and civilian objects are prohibited under international humanitarian law and any such attacks are unacceptable and must cease immediately
The Secretary General also expresses his deepest condolences to the families of all the victims and wishes the wounded a speedy recovery.
