Ukrainian defense forces shoot down over 2,000 cruise and ballistic missiles since the start of full-scale war in Russia - Defense Ministry

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Ukrainian air defense forces have shot down more than 2,000 Russian cruise and ballistic missiles, saving thousands of lives thanks to modern air defense systems. But more systems are still needed to protect civilians from Russian strikes.

Ukrainian air defense forces have shot down more than 2,000 cruise and ballistic missiles since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Monday, UNN reports. 

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 2,000 Russian cruise and ballistic missiles have been shot down

-  the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The agency emphasized that this is the result of the titanic work of Ukrainian air defenders.  And thousands of lives were saved thanks to modern air defense systems provided by Ukrainian partners.

"However, Ukraine still needs more air defense systems to protect our people from Russian terror. After all, civilian infrastructure remains the main target of Russian strikes,"  the Defense Ministry added. 

Today, on March 25, two ballistic missiles launched by the enemy from occupied Crimea towards Kyiv were successfully destroyed by the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces.
