Ukraine to receive grant from OpenAI for safe AI-assisted learning

Ukraine has been named one of the 12 winners of the OpenAI program for the development of safe AI. Researchers will study the impact of technology on learning in wartime conditions.

Ukraine has become one of the 12 winners of the OpenAI grant program for developing a safe artificial intelligence environment in education. This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, according to UNN.

It is noted that OpenAI will support 12 non-governmental and research organizations from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Among the winners is the Ukrainian WINWIN EdTech Center of Excellence in collaboration with the East Europe Foundation.
As part of the project, Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Education and Science, will conduct a large-scale study on the impact of artificial intelligence on learning during the war and the hybrid educational process.
A survey of teachers, parents, and students is planned to determine exactly how they interact with AI technologies.
Based on the study's results, an open data dashboard will be created, along with an AI Safety Toolkit containing practical advice for teenagers, parents, and teachers, as well as recommendations for updating state educational policy,
The Ministry of Digital Transformation emphasized that Ukraine already has unique experience in implementing artificial intelligence in education under wartime conditions.
