UAH 25 million in losses on procurement of military uniforms: Kyiv serves notice of suspicion to military unit official

The head of the clothing service of a military unit in Kyiv is suspected of negligence, which resulted in losses of UAH 25 million. He faces up to 8 years in prison for accepting low-quality winter uniforms.
In Kyiv, the police served a notice of suspicion to the head of the military unit's clothing service, who accepted winter uniforms that did not meet the established standards. In this way, he caused UAH 25 million in losses on the purchase of military uniforms. This was stated by the National Police of Kyiv, UNN reports.
Details
Investigators found out that in 2022, a military unit and a private company signed a contract for the supply of uniforms. The funds for the purchase were allocated by a decision of the Kyiv City Council.
When accepting the uniforms on the balance sheet of the military unit, the head of the material service did not check the compliance of the goods with the standards set by the Ministry of Defense. This resulted in losses of UAH 25 million.
Currently, police investigators have served the officer a notice of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 425 (negligent attitude to military service) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Central Region

In turn, the supplier was charged with complicity in causing UAH 25 million in damages and legalization of UAH three million.
The Desnianskyi District Court of Kyiv is already establishing liability for the entrepreneur who carried out the supply under Part 1 of Art. 209 (Legalization (laundering) of the proceeds of crime) and Part 5 of Art. 191 (Misappropriation, embezzlement or seizure of property through abuse of office) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine
