According to sources, Trump floated the idea of replacing Bondi with Lee Zeldin, head of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Trump has not yet made a final decision, and Bondi's allies pointed to photographs of her and the president traveling to the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday to dispute suggestions that the president plans to fire her.

"Attorney General Pam Bondi is a wonderful person, and she is doing a good job," Trump said in a statement to The New York Times. Bondi's spokesperson referred to Trump's statement.

But the US president, as indicated, has been dissatisfied with Bondi for several months. Among his main complaints is Bondi's handling of the "Epstein case," which has become a political problem for Trump among his supporters.
