The Secretary General of the Council of Europe and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liechtenstein visited Bucha in Kyiv region to see the aftermath of Russian atrocities and discuss regional cooperation with the Kyiv authorities.

Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović-Buryć and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education and Sports of Liechtenstein Dominique Gasler, who currently chairs the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, paid a working visit to Kyiv region. This was reported by the Kyiv OVA, according to UNN.

It is noted that the delegation was briefed on the situation in the region by Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration Lesia Karnaukh.

The foreign guests visited Bucha, which was liberated from Russian occupation by Ukrainian defenders almost 2 years ago,

- the statement said.

The delegations demonstrated the consequences of the fighting in the city and spoke about the egregious human rights violations, crimes, and atrocities committed by the Russian military. At the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called, they paid tribute to the victims.

The parties also discussed the possibility of developing regional cooperation between Kyiv region and regions from EU member states.

The meeting was held as part of the work of the Regional Office for International Cooperation.
