This is evidenced by the ever-new statements of its leadership, which have nothing to do with either spirituality or the foundations of Christian ethics. This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (CCD), informs UNN.

It is noted that the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Kirill, in his latest sermon, stated that the creation of the atomic bomb in the USSR was due to "divine intervention." According to him, the emergence of weapons of mass destruction supposedly saved the Soviet Union "from terrible destruction," and the development process itself took place under the influence of "God's grace and mercy."
A paradoxical situation arises: a structure that positions itself as a defender of "spiritual values" and constantly contrasts Russians with the "immoral West" has for years cultivated a cult of weapons and violence among its multi-million flock
They add that such statements are part of the long-standing strategy of the Russian Orthodox Church to sacralize war and provide a "Christian" justification for the Kremlin's aggressive actions.
