It is noted that MEPs called for the cancellation of the appointment of German Markus Pieper as Brussels' special representative for small and medium-sized enterprises. The decision was supported by 382 deputies, while 144  voted against it.

It is noted that one of the deputies stated that Pieper received a lucrative position for four years due to his membership in the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, of which Von der Leyen is a member.
