The government introduced subsidies for farmers in the frontline areas: UAH 1,000 per hectare in the areas of possible hostilities and UAH 2,000 per hectare in the areas of active hostilities. Applications for support for the development of irrigation systems have also been accepted.
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a resolution introducing a subsidy per 1 hectare of cultivated, sown, or planted land for harvest. The state will pay UAH 1,000 per hectare of land if the farmer is working in the area of possible hostilities, and UAH 2,000 per hectare if it is the area of hostilities. The government has also started accepting applications for assistance for those developing irrigation systems.
This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting, reports UNN.
Details
This week, we started accepting applications for another support program. This is to help those developing irrigation systems. The state budget has allocated UAH 200 million to support reclamation and restore reclamation systems. If a farmer invests his own funds, the state will support him by covering up to 50% of the costs of reconstruction or construction of new irrigation systems. In practice, we are increasing the area of irrigated land, improving the energy efficiency of the systems, and increasing the yield and productivity of the agricultural sector
He also noted that the government has also adopted a resolution today to launch another program to support farmers - a mechanism to provide special subsidies for farmers working in these frontline regions.
“The state will pay UAH 1 thousand per hectare of land if the farmer works in the area of possible hostilities, and UAH 2 thousand per hectare if it is the area of hostilities. We understand how difficult it is to sow and harvest on these lands and in these communities, so we will support our people who work there,” added Shmyhal.
AddendumAddendum
The government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, added that the relevant changes were made to the procedure for using the funds provided in the state budget for state support of agricultural producers by allocating budget subsidies per unit of cultivated land.
In order to reduce the financial burden on agricultural producers, a budget subsidy was introduced per 1 hectare of cultivated land sown/planted with agricultural crops for the current year's harvest, in particular for the following areas: possible military operations - UAH 1 thousand; active military operations and active military operations where state electronic information resources are operating - UAH 2 thousand
