On the border with Moldova, 48 men were detained who were trying to illegally cross the border in a truck. The Border Guard Service reports that most attempts at illegal crossing are made in small groups of 2-3 people.
Commenting on the detention of 48 men in a KAMAZ truck on the border with Moldova, the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, said that there are not many such cases, as most attempts to illegally cross the border are recorded by small groups of 2-3 people. Demchenko said this during a telethon, UNN reports.
Details
"As before, attempts to illegally cross the border continue, and most of them occur in the direction of the green border, that is, outside the checkpoints. If we talk about such groups detained in Odesa region, fortunately, there are not many such cases, but we see the audacity of the organizers of such schemes, when they actually promise people assistance in illegal crossing. They gather them on the way to the border, and then divide them into smaller groups to make them less visible, or there have been cases when large groups have tried to break through the border. Most of the attempts are small groups of 2-3 people heading to the border, or single people," said Demchenko.
According to him, attempts to illegally cross the border are also recorded at checkpoints - with attempts to hide in the design features of vehicles or bribe border guards.
"Most of the attempts (to illegally cross the border - ed.) take place on the border with Moldova and Romania," Demchenko added.
